Egypt's interior ministry has detained three perpetrators of the attack targeting a restaurant and bar late Friday leaving 16 dead and three others injured.

A statement by the interior ministry highlights that the incident followed an altercation and developed into an arson attack.

Late Friday, the interior ministry announced that two perpetrators were detained in Egypt's Suez governorate, to which they fled following the attack.

Both are teenagers that investigations revealed were denied entry to the restaurant and bar by security guards the night before the attack.

The duo with the aid of two others came back and threw Molotov cocktails and shot bullets at the door of the restaurant and bar named, Al-Sayyad.

The third defendant was detained early Saturday by police forces after they received information he was hiding in Greater Cairo's Imbaba district.

All victims, 11 men and five women, were employees of the club.

The prosecution has ordered that the victims' bodies be transferred to Zeinhom Morgue for DNA tests, as some cannot be indentified due to severe burns.
