This is not what it shows—there was a separate “4/20” event in Hyde Park on Saturday promoting the legalisation and recreational use of cannabis.
Royal Parks, the charity that manages London’s royal parks, including Hyde Park, tweeted on Monday: “This photo is the result of an unofficial event in Hyde Park on Saturday, not the #ExtinctionRebellion protestors in Marble Arch.”
Some Extinction Rebellion protestors at Marble Arch have been camping on the edge of Hyde Park, but the litter in this image is not theirs.
