Tories start countdown to do-or-die Brexit day

A countdown clock ticking down to October 31 has been delivered to Downing Street.

The countdown clock, worth an estimated £500, will be displayed in Boris Johnson’s office, No 10 confirmed.

A similar one has been hung in the Conservative Party’s headquarters, below a message saying, “We will have delivered Brexit and left the EU by . . .”.

On Wednesday the Tories tweeted a photo of James Cleverly, the party chairman, grinning and pointing to the clock. “We will deliver Brexit by October 31st,” he said.
