Brad Pitt will star in an untitled film that Robert Zemeckis will direct for Paramount Pictures, GK Films and New Regency. Steven Knight wrote the script. While they are keeping title and logline under wraps, it’s a big-scale thriller with romance that will begin production this fall, so it’s a real thing. GK Films’ Graham King will produce along with ImageMovers’ Zemeckis and Steve Starkey, with Jack Rapke, Knight, Patrick McCormick and Denis O’Sullivan exec producing.
This means Zemeckis, who returned to live-action filmmaking with the Denzel Washington-starrer Flight, will work with Pitt after he completes posting The Walk, the cutting-edge 3D film he’s making for Tom Rothman’s TriStar, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Philippe Petit as he crossed the Twin Towers on a tightrope. That film will be released October 2.
Knight, who directed the superb thriller Locke, is also working with King on a remake of the French thriller Le Cercle Rouge, which has been reworked for Hong Kong.
