The case against the man charged with the murder of German backpacker Simone Strobel in Lismore 17 years ago, has been adjourned for a further six weeks, while a further brief of evidence is prepared.
Tobias Friedrich Moran has been charged with the murder of Simone Strobel in 2005 and attempting to pervert the court of justice.
The matter was briefly mentioned before Magistrate Jeff Linden in Lismore Local Court today (Wednesday).
Mr Moran was not required to attend the proceedings and his lawyer David Quayle appeared on his behalf.
Mr Quayle said a brief of evidence had not been served on his client and that police had asked for a further six weeks to prepare documents.
The case will now return to Lismore Local Court on November 9.
It was resolved that Mr Moran will be excused from appearing on that date as well.
Mr Moran remains on bail as court proceedings continue.
